Science of Cities Exhibit Design

[Design as a means to communicate complex scientific information to adults and children.] Science of Cities was an exhibit spearheaded and designed with the intention of creating a child and adult friendly area based off of complex scientific research. With knowledge gained from conversation with Physicist Luis Bettencourt at the Santa Fe Institute, the goal became to relate complex theories in understandable categories. The visual parti came from the layout of a city grid, and was organized using six different educational panels. These categories go over the very basic levels of what makes a city. This simplicity helps young children understand the city that surrounds them, and how connections play a big part of their daily life. * Creative Directors: Professors Megan Jacobs and Andrew Wollner Partner on Project: Alexandria Burnquist
